General Zod desired to attain immense power. This entailed his incarceration in the Phantom Zone. Jor-El saw to it that he would serve a sentence. After embarking on flight he is vengeful. Zod had conjured up plans pertaining to a new order. His stay in the Phantom Zone lasted for 40 years. Zod is mentally impaired, having incurred delusions of grandeur. He later desires to gain power over earth. He is partially accountable for the demise of Krypton.
